WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIKING A PAGE AND LIKING A POST?
Followers vs engagers

What’s the difference between liking a page and liking a post?

Understanding the difference between these two things and knowing that page likes are valuable and post likes are relatively inconsequential, is important when it comes to leveraging Facebook for your real estate lead generation.

All too often the “gurus” out there are teaching people to focus on the engagement on your posts… also known as getting likes on your posts… when this isn’t what brings in business.

It’s a backwards approach to a straight forward lead generation methodology.

This creates confusion with some real estate agents when it comes to knowing the difference in the “likes” and that one is valuable and the other is… meh.

I talk about it more here: (video above)

Always remember, as a real estate agent, your Facebook business page is a conduit into your database. It is not a destination and you don’t want to spend your time trying to figure out how to get random people to like your posts. You DO want to spend your time building the right, highly target page like audience that you can leverage and drive right into your database.

TRANSCRIPT:

Hey! This is Christina with Leads and Leverage and today I’m coming at you or giving you an answer to another question. And that question is: “What’s the difference between liking a page and liking a post?” And I know that might seem pretty standard knowledge amongst a lot of people, but actually it’s a question I get a lot.

And so I’m answering this specifically for real estate agents that have asked this question, although the answer is the same for everybody. When somebody actually likes a page they physically click “like” to the page there’s actually the number of page likes that a page has. When somebody likes a post it’s a post that you’ve put up and they click “like” on it.

Now to go deeper, which one’s better? Well if you ask a lot of Facebook marketers they think that liking a post and getting a lot of viral posts and getting people who like a lot of posts will actually bring a lot of page likes. Well that’s true and it’s not true. You want people to like your page and then as a real estate agent, then you want to be able to target those people and drive them into your database.

The goal is not to use your page as a destination, the goal is not to try to get viral posts, the goal is to get people to connect to your page and then to take the next action and dive into your database. So, the difference between liking a page and liking a post can mean the difference between actually having a lead that goes to closing and nothing.

This is Christina with Leads and Leverage, if you have any other questions for using Facebook for your real estate business let me know. Have a great day!
